How was your Thanksgiving weekend? Did you go anywhere? I hope you had a good one. As I said, we stayed here in the city and it was great. One of the things we decided to do yesterday (Sunday) was to go to the famous Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall. I’ve been living in NYC long enough and I always wanted to go. Same as my husband, who has been here since forever and it was his first time watching the show.
At first we were a little bit concerned about Dylan. Should he go or not? But at the end of the day, it wasn’t going to be fun without him. Dylan has been obsessing about “Papai Noel” (Santa) for over a month now because of a video in Portuguese I showed to him. He just loves the guy, haha! So of course, we took him. It’s a show for kids too. We planned on going on a time that we knew he would be in a good mood, 11am, and we were prepared. I had a bunch of yummy snacks if I needed and we choose a seat near the stage. It’s not cheap, but it’s worth.
The show lasts 90 minutes and it’s enough time specially if you have little kids. Lot’s of singing, dancing, lights and Dylan was mesmerized the whole time. I have to say I’m really, really proud of him. He watched the whole show without making a peep. When he saw Papai Noel for the first time it was magical for him and for me. Tears came down his face as he was pointing and calling for him. He was happy. He was smiling. And to me, just to see his face was worth the whole thing! It’s because of this we do things for our kids.
We never know what is going to happen when we take a toddler to the theater. Nothing is guarantee, but I always say we have to try, we have to plan, and we have to insist. Christmas is magic in NYC and this Christmas Spectacular just remind us this. We’re very lucky to live in the city and be able to experience this together.
I tried to snap a few quick photos during the show, but nothing is really good. And I also didn’t make any video… Here are the few photos we took.
